ILHAPOR, one of our subsidiary companies, has just been awarded the best 2010 Small and Medium-sized Business prize by the financial magazine Exame, after a laborious selection process carried out by the prestigious International Consulting company Deloitte. This prize for our factory in Cerveira has been complete: it has been awarded for its global management out of a thousand Portuguese Small and Medium-Sized Businesses and has received the same award in the metallurgical sector. This award is an acknowledgment of all the business efforts we have made for several decades in GRUPO FUNDILUSA. The leaders of this influential financial publication have highlighted the stability of our subsidiary company ILHAPOR, which has managed to overcome the prevailing crisis with a plan to diversify its products and international growth.  The magazine Exame, the most influential one in Portugal in the financial and business sector, belongs to the Swiss communication giant Edipresse and to Impresa.

Last September the warship 'Juan Carlos I' was delivered to the Spanish Navy, the largest military vessel in the fleet, with a displacement of over 27,000 tons. In such an important project, a colossal piece of work that took five years to complete in the Navantia-Ferrol shipyard, our company had to participate with its technology. The propellers, manufactured by Fundilusa for our client Schottel are 4.5 metres in diameter and weigh 11 tons. The specifications for a warship of this kind are the highest possible, requiring great manoeuvrability in a very short time. The propellers are of the 'built up' type and will handle a thrust of 11,000 KW, justifying the extensive technical and technological work our company has put into this prestigious project.

Nobody is more appropriate to sponsor the World and European Marathon Champion in the C-1 (sub-23) category than a manufacturer of propellers such as Fundilusa. The Galician Kayak Tudense sportsman will participate next September in a new edition of the World Championship, held in the legendary lake of Banyoles, in Girona, one of the most emblematic venues for rowing and canoeing events in Spain. Good luck Champion!

Fundilusa was present in la the latest Marintec China fair, one of the major global events in the sector, with an original 50-square metre stand, which was the most visited in comparison to our competitors. The fair was held last December and brought together the most important propulsion companies in the world.

We are a global firm. Our company was very popular with professional visitors in the SMM fair in Mumbai, India. Different members of the Indian Government, especially those related to the shipbuilding industry and the Navy, visited our stand in this international fair held on November 12th to 14th. The 36-square metre stand attracted the attention of visitors with its state- of-the-art design.
